Tim Ward is the founder and President of Old Town IT.
With more than twenty years of experience in the technology arena, Tim is an expert in translating the unique business needs of associations, non-profits and private corporations into Web-based technology solutions that optimize business processes and create new efficiencies.
Since starting Old Town IT in February of 2007, Mr. Ward has helped many organizations
with complex technology requirements, including the National Association of Chain
Drug Stores, Congressional Quarterly, Inc., the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association, and The Salvation Army Southern Territory.
Prior to founding Old Town IT, Tim served as the Chief Technology Officer at Avectra, Inc. where he led all aspects of software development including database design, systems development and architecture, integration, interoperability, quality control, and change management. Mr. Ward served as the chief architect of the company's ABLAZE, AvectraFORUM and netFORUM product lines and had been with the firm since its inception as a founder and principle.
Previously, Tim worked as a consultant to the federal government on projects for various federal agencies including the Executive Office of the President, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Information Agency, and the Defense Information Systems Agency.
Mr. Ward has been active in the Northern Virginia technology community as a member of the Washington DC Area CTO roundtable and serving as chairman of the ASAE Data Standards Task Force Development working group.
Tim has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife and their two children.
